Job Center

Reopening Procedures

Dear OhioMeansJobs Columbus-Franklin County Customers,

As we all know, the past few months have forced us all to adjust how we do things in our daily lives. This is no different for the staff at the OhioMeansJobs Columbus-Franklin County Job Center. Over the past six months, we have pivoted our work to include virtual services and virtual events while being closed to the public.

Our current virtual service offerings include:

·      Participation in live virtual workshops

·      Connectivity to partner programming

·      Access to individualized career counseling

·      Exploration of new career opportunities

·      Facilitation of virtual hiring events.

In addition to the virtual service offerings, we are excited to announce that, beginning on October 5th, we will be providing access to our Resource Room by appointment only. This will allow customers 50-minute sessions to access the internet, work on resumes, print/scan/copy/fax documents, apply for jobs, or any other items normally completed in our Resource Room.

Please keep in mind the following when reserving an appointment for our Resource Room:

·      Only the person on the appointment will be admitted to the Job Center

·      Customers should arrive no more than 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment – no early arrival will be allowed into the Job Center.

·      Customers will complete a COVID Health Screening and temperature check

·      Customers will be expected to wear a mask at all times while inside the building, in public spaces, and observe social distancing.

·      Customers are permitted to only reserve one appointment per day to allow time for staff to clean and other clients to utilize the resource center. If you are in need of additional services, you must schedule a separate appointment on a different day through our schedule portal.

For a customer to make an appointment:

·      Click the book now button located on this page

·      Use the chat feature at the top of the page if you are having difficulties with scheduling an appointment or have questions. You may also call us at (614) 559-5052 and speak to one of our Customer Service Representatives.

Once a customer schedules an appointment for our Resource Room, our scheduling system will provide you with a  confirmation email. This email will contain the details of the appointment and provide contact information should there be additional questions.

If at any time you have questions, need to cancel your appointment, or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at 614-559-5052.

The following are steps we have taken to ensure your safety in our Job Center:

·      Establish an increased sanitation protocol for public hard surfaces in the Job Center

·      Resource Room keyboards are sanitized using LED-C lighting between each use

·      Chairs and tables are wiped down after each use

·      Common space hard surfaces are wiped down twice daily

·      Hand sanitizer stations are provided in key areas of the Job Center for staff and                 customers

·      Provide single-use masks to customers who do not have a mask upon arrival

·      Signage will be around the Job Center to assist customers with safely moving within our space, resources that are available, and expectations during appointments

We will update our website and communicate any additional changes to our service delivery as our office environment adjusts in response to information provided by local, county, and state officials.
