Hiring Events/Job Expo
We can help recruit valuable employees/workers to meet an employer’s needs. OMJ-CFC offers vetting services to improve employee retention, to enhance employer productivity, and to provide a free & positive recruiting environment. Hiring Events/Job Expos may be conducted at the work site or at the OhioMeansJobs Center depending on employer needs, space and equipment.
We can help employers access training through area colleges and other training providers or create a specific training plan to meet an employer’s needs. OMJ-CFC offers training services to improve employee retention, to enhance employee opportunities for career advancement and to provide a positive training environment. Classes may be offered at the work site or at the OhioMeansJobs Center depending on needs, space and equipment.
Labor Market Information
Our staff meets with employers to conduct labor market surveys that provide the area with local information on training, staff development and business needs.
Information Technology (IT-NEG) Partnerships
OMJ-CFC/WDBCO is a recipient of the new Sector Partnerships National Emergency Grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. The goal is to assist 40 dislocated workers over the next two years in the IT field in getting additional training and certification, and re-entering the job force. WDBCO is currently convening 18 community partners and employers in this initiative.
On the Job Training (OJT) Program
Employers can receive reimbursement for training wages, up to 90% depending upon the company size, for eligible new hires during the initial training period that can extend to six months.
Rapid Response/Layoff Aversion
Once notified of a closure or lay-off in Central Ohio, our Rapid Response Team will go to the closing business offering information about unemployment compensation, resume development and job search assistance to make the transition less stressful.
