Special Populations & Tax Credits

Expand your talent pool and your community impact by hiring from these special populations. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is available from the Federal Government to Employers for hiring from one or more of these target groups:

  • Unemployed Veterans (including disabled veterans)
  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients
  • Food Stamp (SNAP) recipients
  • Designated Community Residents (living in Empowerment Zones or Rural Renewal Counties)
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Referred Individuals
  • Justice-Involved Individuals
  • Supplemental Security Income recipients
  • Summer Youth Employees (living in Empowerment Zones)
  • Long-term Unemployed

Credits amounts are based on the target group and can range from $1,200 up to $9,600. Applications for the WOTC program must be submitted to the Ohio WOTC office within 28 days of the hire date, so don’t delay, reach out today!
